Five new Pokémon games will arrive later this year on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, today’s Pokémon Direct revealed.
“Pokkén Tournament Deluxe takes full advantage of the variety of gameplay modes made possible by Nintendo Switch,” said Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company. Pokkén Tournament DX intends to bridge the gap between the Wii U and arcade versions of the original game in the series, Pokkén Tournament, by adding new Pokémon, gameplay modes, and daily challenges.
Pokkén Tournament DX launches on Nintendo Switch on September 22, 2017.
“Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon offer an alternate story taking place in the world of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, featuring Pokémon that didn’t appear in the original versions,” said Junichi Masuda, Director of Game Freak. “Please stay tuned for more information.”
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will launch simultaneously worldwide on November 17, 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Finally, the second titles in the Pokémon series, Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version, will launch for the Virtual Console service on Nintendo 3DS. Both games, which originally released in 1999 on Game Boy Color, will become compatible with the Pokémon Bank application.
